I started watching #loveonthespectrumus with my friend who recently got diagnosed with #autism. We love watching reality shows like Queer Eye, so even though she's already seen it, when I said I was curious & hadn't yet, we dove right in.
It's endearing to watch everyone's journey & experiences.
We both recognized that the showrunner's choices infantalize many of the participants.
I appreciate the coach Jennifer Cook's support & approach with the families & participants.
The actual date settings & experiences everyone got to go on were impressive backdrops - hello Kenya!
You can't help but see a little of yourself in all the participants.
