So #openai have taken away their only decent model GPT4 and replaced it with a complete fucking mess.
I guess I will be cancelling that sub next month.
They didn't even leave the o3 minis. It's just GPT5 or fuck you.
Fuck me then I guess.
But absolutely build your company and staffing around a service that can disappear overnight.

@nf3xn@mastodon.social The launch of hosted GPT5 was at the very opposite end of value-adding compared to their release of the "open source" gpt-oss-20b (and perhaps 120b). The former is what I feel to be the first time it's possible to build self-hosted quality LLMs with full external tool usage.
_That's_ something that can be built upon.
