So the push back to Houston's diktat banning hiking in Nova Scotia has begun. Good. This is the most ridiculous and damaging knee jerk I've seen in a longtime.
But now I'm torn, as the "rights" organisations CBC say are leading this are the same fuckwits that advocated for Convoy mob and the Covid deniers.
Does anyone know of civil rights campaigning organisations not tainted by their championing of extremists and nutjubs who would terrorize us all?

@NovaNaturalist@mstdn.ca I'd agree that it's badly implemented, and they could have easily made cut outs of areas that were allowed, however you do have to expect people to do the stupidest things, especially when you're dealing with the general public.
Many people would be careful and considerate of the fire risk, but you have to account for the part of the population who doesn't give a flying shit.
The idea is in the right place, but like most things Houston does, it's badly implemented with zero forethought, hence the blowback.
