✨If I build the foils hollow like an airplane wing I could take 2 spare foils with me and assemble them as needed.
What a fantastic idea!
The destruction of the foils is a big concern for me as the loss of them basically would mean that my boat would not be able to sail properly anymore. - the foils are acting like a keel.
✨ Mia’s Simulacrum 🏳️⚧️✨Also I might be able to change the wave frequency response with these foils but this needs a lot more calculation.
The idea is to change the „inertia“ of the boat by utilizing water resistance to be able to sail faster and less stressful at specific wave frequency ranges.
✨ Mia’s Simulacrum 🏳️⚧️✨This leads to new problems like forces on the foils and sails as waves will hit it … and the annoying need for oxygen by myself.
✨ Mia’s Simulacrum 🏳️⚧️✨i could also put the batteries on rails and allow them to move via a dampened spring mechanism whatever.
That way i could trim the boat and counteract the waves.
And i might even be able to harvest energy from it....
But it is very difficult volume wise.
✨ Mia’s Simulacrum 🏳️⚧️✨I could put the batteries in the bilge but then this room needs to be ventilated and the moving batteries need to be water proof.
Also the cables need to be able to handle that.... that and a draw of 7kW.
Okay these fuckers need to be water proof regardless, but needing them water proof and moving is like a magnitude more complex.

I would have to design the boat around it but it has massive advantages.
Like if i use 2 slider on the same track i could just move the 1 slider in the front and the other to the back and it will increase inertia for free without having to move at all.

Sleeping on unmovable LiFePO4 is not a great feeling ... i mean if they start burning while they are unmovable it does not really matter anyway in the first place if all one can carry is a survival suit.
