@ccferrie@mastodon.ie Also unlikely the any part of this conversation was related to how long pedestrians have to wait at that same junction (for which the the council sought an exemption from DMURS standards that are designed specifically to make life easier for people outside cars).

@ccferrie@mastodon.ie The idea of reducing the numbers of cars on the road doesn't even exist in their thinking. You will never hear a politician from FF/FG (and probably others) talk about this. They'll make vague noises about active travel and public transport but these are always for them low-status ways of getting about compared to the gold standard of driving.
