@petergleick@fediscience.org to be strictly technical, as non-signatories to the ICC, the US isn't obligated to arrest Putin. France, etc, on the other hand would be obligated to arrest Netanyahu, but I wouldn't get one's hope up.

@quinn@social.circl.lu @petergleick@fediscience.org Poland and Hungary failed to uphold the law as well when Netanyahu visited them. Par for the course for OrbΓ‘n, but disappointing from Tusk.

@fazalmajid@social.vivaldi.net @petergleick@fediscience.org iirc correctly Orban used Netanyahu's visit as the excuse to withdraw from the ICC.

@fazalmajid@social.vivaldi.net @petergleick@fediscience.org I'm not sure he actually went to Poland? But yeah several countries assured him he wouldn't be arrested. Not sure that's going to hold up though

@quinn@social.circl.lu I mean, if I were head of state, I'd definitely assure him I would not arrest him, but only to arrest him should he arrive. AFAIK, cops are allowed to lie to catch criminals…
