Why does Google Maps know this is a path and where it leads? Why does it know three branches of the path in case you miss the first one?

A slapdash barrier of particle board set into a sand dune is covered in multicolor tags, including the unlikely claim "Trump is gay!" Farther up the dunes are wind-stunted cypress trees, with bare roots emerging unpredictably from the sand. At the top of the hill is a line of brightly painted box houses that show proximity to civilization.
