As of early August 2025, the Gaza Health Ministry reports a grim toll of over 61,158 Palestinians killed and more than 151,442 injured in the ongoing conflict since October 7, 2023. This figure is the lower bound, as it doesn't account for indirect deaths from disease and malnutrition or thousands of presumed dead still under the rubble.
Reports also indicate that at least 62,413 people in Gaza have died from starvation (mostly young children) and 5,000 from lack of chronic disease care since October 7, 2023.
The World Health Organization reports over 193 malnutrition-related deaths, including 96 children, as of August 6, 2025.
A recent report mentioned that 898 Israeli soldiers and 70 police officers were killed in the war against Hamas in Gaza and against Hezbollah in Lebanon, according to The Times of Israel, 5,569 Israeli soldiers had been wounded with 815 suffering serious injuries.
