Independent, free media stands at the core of democracy.

Today, the European Media Freedom Act comes into force, designed to strengthen media freedom, independence, and pluralism within the EU.

It ensures
✅✅ Stronger protection for journalists
✅✅ Adequate funding and editorial freedom for public service media
✅✅ Limits to unwarranted removal of media content by very large online platforms

It also establishes the European Board for Media Services.
