My college-aged son was in a freshman communications class last spring. Typical general education freshman stuff. One lesson was on collaborating and communicating with others. Students were randomly paired off to practice introducing themselves and asking about the other person.
My CS major son does his intro. Then his partner introduces himself and says he’s a finance major. My son replies “Finance major, huh? So you do everything with ChatGPT?” The student spins his laptop around to reveal ChatGPT open with the prompt “introduce myself to another student following the steps in this assignment…”
Good thing ChatGPT was up that day. Who knows whether that college student would have been able to introduce himself unaided…
