What I didn't understand from the outside, but have had great role models to learn from, is that security is an ecosystem of ecosystems, and a large contingent of what makes it up is people.

Treat it like a silo or a bunker and you just make your own systems more brittle.

I mean, I would have liked to deal with people less but the longer I was in my career, the more I had to deal with people.

Getting away from level 1 and 2 problems that are the Helpdesk arena just brought higher stakes situations affecting and dealing with larger numbers of people and especially more exec level ones in the companies.
