It's been a long time since I really needed good friends, which is excellent because there have been extended periods of time when I didn't really have any that were reliable to any meaningful degree.
This week I did need good friends, and it turns out many of the friends I have right now, who I've known for only a year or so, are just fucking amazing.
I don't care how self-sufficient you think you are. Life can and will find ways to disabuse you of that notion, so find your people and cherish them out loud. Life's too goddamn short and too goddamn hard for any person to be an island !
