This is just to vent some frustration, but electricity costs in Sweden are outrageous.

So for our house, I have about $30 of actual buying electricity costs.

But... then the "provider" of this electricity think that it's reasonable that I also pay about $130 for various taxes, vat, some more taxes, some "subscription" of sorts ($70).

... I mean... c'mon the fuck on. Jesus... and I have absolutely NO choice in this, I just have to pay, or be without electricity.

Modern version cartels.

@gary_alderson@infosec.exchange That we do have... and (un)fortunately I've had to experience the benefits of it first hand... and I'm entirely grateful for it.

But the electric grid in Sweden, as perceived by me as a consumer, is that costs keep climbing, but I see no real change.

And I don't see how it has gotten any better since becoming privatized. As a consumer I can do almost nothing to affect the price... nor do I have any reasonable choices in this regard.

Sometimes I'm leaning towards wanting to have it run by the government instead... but that likely wouldn't make it any better.

again... just angry, this too shall pass... eventually.
