Ugh. Ordered lead-free solder and some fancy fluxes from mouser about 100€ in total. Triple checked that they are sending with DDP incoterms, because express delivery charges ridiculous monies for customs agent services.

Today got a call from FedEx, they asked documents for customs and told me I have to pay 70€ for their services or 40€ for 5 days of storage if I’m hiring another agent.

Checked the mouser website: DDP delivery option is gone, order confirmation got zero info about order itself, only link to order tracking. Only place where delivery terms are stated is shipping confirmation and it’s fucking FCA. I would never do this to myself, cmon. I’m 99.99% sure that it’s a glitch in their checkout system that they have fixed, but I have zero proof.

I have no intention to pay extra €100+ in duties and FedEx services.

Escalated this to mouser now I wonder what they will do. I have a feeling that nothing and either I will pay 100€ extra or I can fuck off and have refund that is equals to zero, because they will charge me with delivery and return expenses which of course will be close to the order price

Wow, Mouser offered full refund and I can keep the order and at the end it will cost me more or less the same.

Nice!

Yay, got the parcel!

Fedex agent fee is just stupid. The duty on the parcel is 30€ , which is more or less reasonable for 126€ order.

But 50€ for a copy paste from their system to the customs system is just robbery. And you can’t get around that because if you don’t pay 50€ and go with other agent you’ll pay 40€ for “storage”. Fuckers

But anyway, goodies are here!

New chisel tips will arrive in a few days, so I’ll have a chance to see what’s all this fuss about!
