@aapis@mastodon.world well, I think that’s the thing, though: there is not supposed to be one party that perfectly represent you and your beliefs. getting somewhere close is the system working as intended. It’s called compromise, and we’ve forgotten how to do it.

@Dr_Bombay@mstdn.social I don’t think so. Why elect people with different ideological perspectives if you don’t want them to implement their beliefs? Governance can involve compromise, but it’s never the “goal” there either. Every party wants to win a majority (some realistically won’t, see most Green parties sadlol) and reshape the region in their image. Compromise gave america Trump, a healthcare system that doesn’t work for anyone, the Gestapo 2.0, even literally Hitler.
