Today I have been thinking a lot about the rise of the so called children protection acts.
I cannot avoid relating them with some pattern I have read somewhere (don't ask me where because I don't remember).
I see that most of the core promoters of such thing are old conservative people and from countries whose "traditions" and "historic culture" is garbage.
IMO they started to see that the globalisation that is going now against them is giving a chance of young people, who will replace them eventually as everyone dies at some point, to explore and vibe with things out of this, even engaging in criticism on their own origin.
Knowing that the laws for "protection" started by limiting even what is taught in schools, how there are concerns about what someone could read, the recent anti-inmigration ideas (attached to the racist and xenophobic ideas from that historic culture) with a focus on the culture of the external people and how they would shift the country's one... It feels like if they were trying to create a single path for young people where there are no options other that the ones from the core shitty culture want to choose, with the constant fear that external influence may break it.
There is the promise that they will be free to choose when they are adults. Yet with the strikes to the protection of queer people, those ideas I mentioned before and the fact that with being adult you don't have any of the real protections to real harm you had while being a child (physical violence, being dumped from home) and also the fact that the adult life is filled with having to live in a frame of possibilities; where exploring is considered inmature, is likely that you finish in the streets, without shelter and without a job or exploited somewhere... There is no much freedom.
Soon those new adults will be forced to embrace the shitty culture they live in so the conservatives will have their acclaimed replacement.
And what comes next? Well, for me this is the base to control the society at a strict level to the point that no-one would doubt in being set with a gun, and start shooting at people in other country, or in which the orders to make a ethnic cleaning would be one thing more. At the end, their "culture" is at a risk of being replaced.
