Questioning health life choices

I'm trying really hard to not go down a slippery slope or rabbit hole. I'm also not being self-indulgent or seeking pity. I'm honestly trying to evaluate this and understand it better.

What I'm eluding to here is that basically every part of my body and mind have one or more significant health conditions. I've been working for years to address these.

But sometimes of late, I question why I am doing it at all. What benefit am I providing to society and to people around me? The last thing I want to do is to be a net drain on all types of resources.

This isn't a cry for help that I am having suicidal ideation. It's more just questioning, um, life choices? I don't particularly have someone to talk this with IRL, although I'm trying to engage with a therapist that can shed some light on this and other important mental topics.

Any insights are most appreciated, dear Fediversians.

@AncTreat5358@mindly.social The only thing I can 100% guarantee - stay the fuck away from LLMs with anything on this subject.

a) it could easily end up in google search index
b) you would very likely be steered in a dangerous direction

(both these are trivially searchable recent occurrences)

But look. Keep it simple. Just try to add a little more light into the world. Smile at someone? You might have made their day. Make some stupid art. Post a joke.

Small things. You matter

@sidawson@mas.to Thanks so much for that warning, Si! Don't worry, I have a severe aversion to all things AI/LLM.

I do try to do those great suggestions.

I appreciate your thoughts very much, Si.
