In the last three years, I have lost count how many people I’ve worked closely with has been taken away by Covid. Yesterday, one of the best guys I’ve worked with seemed fine when he arrived at work. An hour later, the fire department picked him up from the locker room floor.
This is the first time in my long career I have lost people. It was always retirement and they would start drinking and pass away. But this Covid is getting people before they can retire. I was talking with an old friend I started my career with thirty years ago across the country and he said the same thing. He said most of his neighbors are gone. Covid got them.
Why I keep wearing a mask. And interviewing, hiring, and training. This is all new. Hiring new people was only to replace those who retired.
I remember when that clown claimed this was a hoax. It’s turned my life upside down and this is the new normal.
