Two blokes just tried to give me a truckload of furniture. (Nick Scali delivery truck.) I'm at (for the purposes of this post) number 84. The furniture order was for 84D, which is the perpetual construction site to my south. 84A is to my north. 84B and 84C don't even have foundations yet. (Local council needs to have a good hard look at itself re house numbering post-block subdivision.) The only person at 84D today is a codger mucking about re-laying the public footpath. Strangely, he declined to accept the delivery. So the two blokes and I had a bit of a giggle, and now I'm staying the hell out of it. I don't have room for more furniture, even if it is likely to be fairly nice.
Looking forward to a future filled with this sort of nonsense. I'm feeling more and more solidarity with Victor Meldrew with every day that passes.
