@lxskllr@mastodon.world I loved watching Game of Thrones, watched it twice. The character development was so solid. I mourned when some of them met their end. Even some of the villains were . . . humanized and likable. They truly tried to be honorable, and do the right thing.

HoD is just a bunch of miserable people scheming over the throne, out for their own benefit. Where is Tyrion? Ned? Catelyn? Brienne? Sam and Gilly? Arya and the Hound? Not to mention Danaerys? The people to root for?

I think maybe what I didn't like about it was it was too close to real life. It was real life turned up to 11, but I don't have much tolerance for political machinations these days.

Also, the later seasons bummed me out. I wasn't thrilled with the way a lot of it went. Arya was probably my favorite character, and she just fizzled out. Arya out of nowhere kills the night king, and this monumental buildup just sort of ends. Winter was short that year :^D
