I'm surprised you feel so strongly about it. I don't think it's as good as GoT, but it feels close enough in spirit to me.
I'm probably not the best judge though, cause GoT isn't a favorite of mine.

@lxskllr@mastodon.world I loved watching Game of Thrones, watched it twice. The character development was so solid. I mourned when some of them met their end. Even some of the villains were . . . humanized and likable. They truly tried to be honorable, and do the right thing.
HoD is just a bunch of miserable people scheming over the throne, out for their own benefit. Where is Tyrion? Ned? Catelyn? Brienne? Sam and Gilly? Arya and the Hound? Not to mention Danaerys? The people to root for?
