I know you're trying to be helpful, but next time consider the fact that I am very likely way more knowledgeable about my own needs, my own hardware/software, and what's possible that will easily work in the very few infrequent times over the next 5+ years that I'll need it to.
Yes, I can write python that remaps my buttons and have done so in the past. I need the shitty windows app to save a button profile to the closed firmware permanently so this mouse behaves the same no matter what machine its plugged in to. For that I need a VM with direct device pass through.
