@actuallyautistic@a.gup.pe @autistics@fedigroups.social #ActuallyAutistic working on a project and the manager, in standard passive-aggressive/micromanaging style, spends 3 emails to incrementally ask for what was wanted that should have been asked for in the 1st…
…result is a waste of a lot of time and resources responding to each component part of the task…
…but it'll be spun later that i wasn’t taking initiative and not a lack of coherence/competence on the part of the requestor
#WorkingWhileAutistic
Im taking this as venting and I feel ya. My personal thing is feeling that im getting opposing messages at different time. Im not aggressive enough but then later im speaking to much in meetings. I get upset in the short term but I try to assume good intentions and just human imperfection in the long run rather than some intentional thing. So often folks, including myself, don't realize we are doing something stupid. If you get to upset it just messes you up.
@HubertManne@piefed.social there is a long history of issue with this particular manager so this is standard way he operates…
…and it now is starting to feel intentional and targeted...
…i've tried getting assistance with the behavior and was told verbatim “There's nothing in policy that says your boss can’t be an asshole.”
Now im thinking of that line wesley snipes gives in demolition man. "You can't take away people's right to be assholes."
@HubertManne@piefed.social this is shitty HR policy and this manager gets away with it because they're so high up in the food chain
HR's main function is to work with legal to not get them sued. they are not any workers friend and the help they provide all starts with laws that get passed.
