Rice paddy or "Tambo" art, an art form originating in Japan where images are created in rice fields by planting different varieties and colors of rice. 

This particular artwork, measuring 40 meters in length and 170 meters in width, is located in the rice paddy fields of Higashitakasu, Asahikawa City, Hokkaido, Japan.

Haruka Kitaguchi, the Asahikawa-born track and field athlete who won the gold medal in the women’s javelin throw at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Asappi, Asahikawa’s polar bear/spotted seal mascot character, and Attakasu-kun, the hawk goodwill ambassador for Takasucho, the district of Asahikawa that includes the rice paddy art field.
