#FlameWar (no #pun intended) about #fossilfuels with #Canadians on Mastodon in terms of #wildfires. #Irony: I have spent the past 20 years protesting and #writing about shortcomings of U.S. #climate policy, but one line about lack of #environmental #protest in #Canada, while simultaneously and even-handedly criticizing the U.S., gives rise to defensiveness. #Brooklyn #airquality

Or maybe it was an unwarranted and lame attack based on limited information.

Yep. It might be that. Seems like Nikolas has no idea what’s happening here…but judging by his timeline, he may want to order a little cheese to go with his w(h)ine.

Nikolas, you do realize we have whole communities displaced due to wildfires, right? A little humility might help, if what you’re looking for is a conversation about the climate crisis. We get it though. It’s rough in Brooklyn. (Online search shows daily climate protests across

He seems to forget or cannot do basic research on:

1. USA is the major oil producer
2. The western USA also has wildfires

I suspect it has more to do with Republican politicians (wait for it) blaming Canada for ruining the BBQs.
