the TERF obsession with girlhood is... disgusting, to be honest. it treats puberty as a series of mystical rites of passage that must be kept secret from men but also as defining womanhood. which is why it has to be kept secret and mysterious... and shameful.
because if girlhood doesn't come with shame, then their facile understanding of men's power over women, the 'shaping' of girlhood, it doesn't work anymore.
people talk a lot about how transness is so often discussed in terms of suffering and that's a valid conversation but fuck TERFs have us beat for that.
womanhood has to be defined by suffering or womanhood is not oppressive because in radical feminism oppression is personal, not systemic.
