Metrolinx testing of Eglinton LRT is still moving forward and apparently progressing. But still no timelines.

Now they are concerned about how old those Bombardier trains are since i guess a lot of them have been sitting in the garage for years.

It does seem that it's still Metrolinx running the show, so definitely not transferred fully to the TTC

@jerome@jasette.facil.services The trains that haven’t been used at all are somehow wearing out?!

@michaelgemar@mstdn.ca @jerome@jasette.facil.services well imagine if a car sat in a garage for eight years. Systems that are designed to move might be stuck. Oil might be old.

@rexbron@mstdn.ca @jerome@jasette.facil.services Sure, but presumably that’s a reasonably straightforward issue to resolve. It’s not like the vehicles will need to be scrapped.

@rexbron@mstdn.ca @jerome@jasette.facil.services And it’s absurd that the necessary maintenance hasn’t been ongoing all along.
