It's the hottest time of the year when any shade is precious, so why has everyone seemingly decided right now is the time to trim their trees? This is no gentle trimming either. This is strip the tree back to nearly bare branches.

It's terrible for the tree to be stressed like that in this hot weather, but also, just out of pure selfishness, why wouldn't people want shade in their own yards right now? I don't get it at all.

@MLE_online@social.afront.org 1. The weather is nicer and more enjoyable to do yard work than in the cold/drizzly winter.
2. Door-to-door landscape and handyman solicitors have been really stepping up their activity, at least in my area. I question whether it’s related to the fact that ICE has made showing up at a 9-5 blue collar job dangerous for a huge portion of the labor force, or if it’s just a highschool kid summer job thing.

Totally agree it’s a bad idea to additionally stress a heat-stressed tree.
