Black people have been saying for generations that America needs to reckon with it's racism issue and all the democrats say "Yeah, those republicans need to stop being racist" and that attitude is EXACTLY the problem with America.
Yes, the republicans are openly racist. Conservative racism is a problem. But it's only a problem because democrats are racist as fuck too. It's just that they have this liberal feel good racism that manifests is talking points and "faith in the system" and loving harder and harder policing for "safety" and throwing marginalized under the bus and all kinds of other shit.
Y'all, part of what "America needs to reckon with it's racism issue" is the fact that white democrats have this easy, passive believe in "the system," as if it just works without effort⦠BECAUSE IT MOSTLY DOES FOR THEM.
But marginalized communities have never been able to just say "The constitution protects me" or "The police protect me."
And now we're here, because white democrats were like "All this escalation is fine because we're still safe." Until their not and then all they have is "Wait, butβ¦!"

Indeed. If the Democrats had any actual integrity and knowledge of reality, they'd have recognised that fascism came to the United States in 1619. That it burgeoned into a system in 1776 and was codified into the law of the land with the "3/5 compromise".
But that fascism didn't make white people's lives harder, so they don't want to recognise it as having been systemic for generations.
It's complete shit. The Dems have said nothing as the twisted Supreme Court dismantled the Voting Rights Act, making it harder and harder for Black people to vote. They've done nothing to prevent ICE from racial profiling anyone brown enough to make them think they might be Latine, whether they're citizens or not. "Pack the court"
They're carefully protecting the rich from any awkwardness, while pretending to oppose Trump's rich-fellating policies.
They refuse to recognise the fundamental humanity of Palestinian people, and exonerate Israel for any responsibility for the starvation that's going on.
As Renton said in Trainspotting, "It's a shite state of affairs, Tommy, and all the fresh air in the world won't make any fucking difference."
