@bcpaws4ever@mastodon.social I used to find weaving potholders oddly relaxing. I thought about getting the supplies to do that, but I kind of wanted to learn something new, and I wanted something that was a bit more versatile.

@Lisasali@mindly.social @bcpaws4ever@mastodon.social Do you know how to knit on a loom? I've made so many blankets! There are other things you can do but I need to learn more stitches.

@baxaphobia@caneandable.social @bcpaws4ever@mastodon.social I think I did it a little bit once when I was about seven or eight. I have a vague memory of how it is supposed to work. At this point, I would just be happy if I could learn to make dish cloths and baby hats.

@Lisasali@mindly.social @bcpaws4ever@mastodon.social That's easy! There are lots of youtube videos which do provide really easily understandable audio instructions. And a hat is simple as well.

@baxaphobia@caneandable.social @bcpaws4ever@mastodon.social I'm not surprised, and with services that will describe videos, we have more advantages than ever. I found two books on book share that talk about using a round loom. I like the one in particular, and feel I can follow the instructions with little to no difficulty. Sometimes, people get worked up when I say something is easy. However, I tend to make things harder than they need to be, so when someone else says it's easy, I kind of can relax and be more curious and just have fun with it, which is what I want anyway.
