@briankrebs@infosec.exchange LI periodically invents new categories of things to email me about, enabled. I try to find them all, turn them all off, and turn off some other things as well to reduce engagement. I occasionally send LI a snotty feedback email to explain how greedy marketing has backfired AGAIN, never mind breaking GDPR and ethics. (Just had a similar run-in with Patreon with new unsolicited emails that could not be turned off contrary to the claim in them...)

@DamonHD@mastodon.social @briankrebs@infosec.exchange I think this is it. Itβs a tactic I am seeing more and more as businesses are starting to crank up marketing due to lost revenues or expected lost revenues.
Iβm even getting these now after shopping at a store with a loyalty card.
I also got a text message from CVS yesterday to tell me the Rite Aid in my neighborhood closed. I donβt even go to Rite Aid!
