That's such a weird thing to do. It's not like that's the only copy. π€¨

This is what I'm saying! One of the most reproduced documents in the country. I have my own copy. What do they think they are trying to pull?
@oldmanspidey@discuss.smash.today @TerryHancock@realsocial.life @cwebber@social.coop Because most people wonβt bother to check. Just look at βAI responsesβ β many people know theyβll sometimes be wrong, and yet theyβre treated as authoritative sources of information.
All fascists need to do is confuse people enough with floods of misinformation, while providing a convenient channel for the βrealβ information (which is actually totally manipulated in their favor).
@gregly@retro.pizza @oldmanspidey@discuss.smash.today @TerryHancock@realsocial.life @cwebber@social.coop in addition, when AI crawls that site again, and even cites it as a source, who would question the accuracy on a congress.gov site?
I've said it before and I'll say it again: .gov sites are not to be trusted anymore. It started with "DEI" takedowns, progressed to rewriting history and pushing propaganda (covid.gov, maha.gov).
Look to the groups archiving government sites. That's why they're doing it.
@gregly@retro.pizza @oldmanspidey@discuss.smash.today @TerryHancock@realsocial.life @cwebber@social.coop Which makes me wonder: What do our βgloriousβ Large Language Models say about habeas corpus in the Constitution now?
EDIT: FWIW ChatGPT still quotes the text with a link that leads to the Page Not Found.
@gregly@retro.pizza @oldmanspidey@discuss.smash.today @TerryHancock@realsocial.life @cwebber@social.coop But that's quite futile. References to the removed text are still present in many other places, even full quotations, for example here:
