I swear I blink, and it is already #VGMWednesday , or it is the day before.

This week, since we finished Final Fantasy VII, we went back to basics.
How basic?

Donkey Kong basics! Well, not THAT basic, but this is the
#Gameboy DK game that builds on the original arcade, expanding Mario's jumping arsenal and turning the game into a bit of a puzzle platformer!

If you haven't played it, this is actually a great little Gameboy game, featuring 9 additional worlds with 8 to 12 levels each. The game is filled with content and is still a lot of fun to play.

I can't remember how this game came into my possession, but I do remember playing it as a kid on the GBA. Incidentally, as much as I enjoy this game, I have never really gotten into the whole "Mario vs Donkey" series, despite those building off this. Weird.

It is also a coincidence that I am playing this now, whilst people are playing and talking about Donkey Kong Bonanza

With all the extra moves you can do, it's basically Mario 64 in 2D if you think about it.

They really need to bring handstand jump into Mario's 3D move repertoire.
