Just had to have my Formerβ™₯β™₯Neighbourhoodβ™₯β™₯Thug euthanized. 19 yrs old. It was a sudden necessity. I feel shocked and stunned. πŸ’”πŸ’” It just doesn't seem real.

Any advice on how to adjust to life without your little BFF?

It helps that it was a very calm and painless procedure. For him.

Accept that you will hurt.

Spend time, if you can, with a supportive someone who Gets It.

Tell someone what was special about your cat. (Do it here in the replies if you want to).

When the time feels right, get a kitten or kittens, and pour all the love that used to go to your cat into them (no, they can never replace your cat, but that’s not the point).

Know that your cat will be with you in your heart for the rest of your life (right, Geoffrey, Michelle, Pumpkin, Lily, and Jackie Chan?)

Take satisfaction in knowing that you gave your cat a good, love-filled life.

@penpencilbrush@mstdn.social So sorry for your loss. Take comfort in the good times you spent together while he was with you.
