A lot has changed in a year. Folks now think genAI will reduce quality, rather than have no impact, and they think it will increase quality even less.

Impact of generative AI—quality How will generative AI impact the quality of games produced in the next 12 months? Regarding quality, however, there has been a significant shift in opinion among developers over the last year. 47% of respondents now believe that generative AI will lead to a reduction in the quality of games produced over the next 12 months, up sharply from 34% in 2024. This is mirrored by a decrease in the number expecting AI-driven increases in game quality, which has fallen to just 11%, meaning developers are more than four times as likely to anticipate a negative impact.
