The war with Russia has made bomb shelters a hot topic in Denmark. An investigation has revealed, that many communes do not have enough bomb shelters for all citizens.

While Ballerup Commune has a shelter space for each citizen, the small Læsø Commune has no bomb shelters, and many communes fall somewhere in between.

My commune Vejle only offers bomb shelters for 53 percent of our 122,000 citizens.

How is the bomb shelter situation in your country?

@randahl@mastodon.social TBF I guess Læsø isn't exactly on the top 10 hit list in the event of war? But how do you even find out where the bomb shelters are in case you need one?

@Ruth_Mottram@fediscience.org in Denmark, every commune has a database, so you can call them and ask. It is also possible to call the local fire department.

However, based on their data, an individual also developed a site where you can look it up:
