@Starkimarm@23.social I know asking "for what purpose" is pretty silly when it comes to things which have no real purpose, like LLMs, but for what purpose would one want an LLM built into a chat program? It can't just be to legitimise the money spent developing the things, can it? Like the software equivalent of the cube in the Cube franchise, "we've got it now, so we may as well torture people with it"? (Which is just a supposition from someone being tortured in it, anyway)
