Just three years ago we were pleased to see that a single Marsh orchid (I think that's what it's called anyway) had found its way into the wild front garden.

This year's count so far is 18 of them.

In a meadow of long grasses, from a low down viewpoint, are three cerise pink, long pyramid-shaped blooms of marsh orchids, with out of focus spots of yellow buttercups in the background. The leaves of the nearest plant are visible slightly in front of the flower.
