Covid isn't over and I hope at some point we can get a brief reprieve from everything being enshittified and politicized so the medical establishment can take action on the lessons learned from the revelation that airborne viral disease is a lot more common than previously thought and that all public indoor settings, especially medical and other places where there are lots of vulnerable people (such as aged care) need to consider airborne pathogens as a general hazard just like, say, slip and fall risks.
I had covid twice and it sucked and I don't want it again, I also don't want to have influenza, I don't even want to have "a cold" if I can avoid it.
Right at the start of the pandemic, I made respiratory protection one of my special interests (it kinda already had been! I used to be a breathing apparatus certified firefighter), learned a lot about masks and respirators, and (during the time when there were shortages of masks and respirators) played with creating mask accessories and DIY respirators.
