I kind of wish I gave this more of a shot in 2023. It feels like anyone that I search for and might follow from other social media sites stopped posting on here last year.

Groups and businesses I want to follow aren't actually on here. I find mainly automated news bots using their names.

It feels like a lot of missed potential, but I do see the perk for niche communities not getting drowned out by other noise.

Hang in there. Follow folks. There aren't any algorithms driving accounts into your timeline here. No algorithms trying to tweak your dopamine receptors either. So it's intentional. Follow accounts that interest you. But it's a coop, of a sort. So learn the group's rules and norms and you'll love it here.
