Remember when people watched 6 or so non-cable broadcast tv networks, and Firefly on was the air and then abruptly cancelled?
There was another high quality show on the same network, also unjustly cancelled.... Wonderfalls.
A 20-something underachieving girl who works at a gift shop near Niagara Falls hears a defective wax lion telling her to do things. If she doesn't obey, it keeps talking. Other animal-toys or images take their turns telling her what to do. When she obeys, people's lives get better, usually through unusual coincidences. Her disaffected life gets better too, and a romance develops between her and a bartender with a broken heart.
Fans got the show released on DVD.
The people behind this also made Pushing Daisies and Dead Like Me.
