Hi, I have Ocular albinism

I have hinted at having vision issues on here but haven't been specific. As much as you shouldn't need to explain your disability to anyone, beyond explaining your needs, I think it is good to be open about such things.

Some of the light receptors in my eyes are missing pigment which means that they don't activate properly (Ocular = eye, albinism = albino = lacking pigment)

I have 20/200 vision (corrected and averaged across both eyes, left < right)

My focus and colour vision are both pretty good. Mainly where I have problems is visual acuity and low light.

I need more light in order for my eyes to get enough information (which is annoying because I am also light sensitive) about what I am seeing and I have a hard time seeing detail in things that are small or far away

My typical explanation is that normal people have HD/4k eyes and I see in standard def. Things need to be bigger in order to see details.

My eyes also move in an attempt to get a better view on things (I don't notice this happening). If i'm tired I can end up subconsciously shaking my head.

I have a lazy eye because my right eye is much better than my left. This also means I have poor to no depth perception andcan'tsee 3D movies.

I also have an astigmatism which means that I tend to roatate my head because it's easier to differentiate things vertically than horizontally
