I'm 69 and have spent nearly half my life in Germany. I'm from Oakland, a 5th-generation Californian on my mother's side. I studied comp lit at UCB and law at USF. I'm a humanist and a secular Jew. My father and his siblings fought to free Europe from fascism in WWII. In 1981, I did a year abroad in Heidelberg. In 1995 I returned, ending up in Wiesbaden. I teach, write, trade, and do consulting. Interests include language, philosophy, jazz piano and harmony, calisthenics, and cycling.
