Wrote this for someone in particular but it sums up my feelings well enough I might as well put it out there on the public TLs and maybe pin:
[Using the fediverse] is like computing more generally: There's a lot I liked about it from way back, but it warms my heart not one bit to see someone be put into a position where they feel like they have no choice but to use it.
So, I'm glad it's here for you to use but I'm sorry it's happened this way.
