#introduction
I’m currently the security officer for a SMB. I started my career in helpdesk and worked my way up through analyst and engineering roles in big tech until finding my niche in risk management. I love cryptography in theory and architecture but I’m really bad at math. I’ve tried my hands at gov and startup and neither come easily to me. I’m happiest when I can change things for the better.
I practice non-violent communication and empathy like someone who goes the gym. I believe that those skills are sadly understudied for men and especially men in tech.
I survived COVID and am in my second year of #LongCovid recovery. I take poorly to folks dismissing the severity of a disease that disabled me for the rest of my life.
I work hard to do better for others and to offer the hand to those in need as it was offered to me.
I stand with my friends and loved ones in support of the LGTBQA+ community.
In my free time I read books, enjoy video games, the occasional Gunpla, flying kites, live music, and whiskey (all kinds).
