40-second timelapse video of oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus) sprouting from Merlin Sheldrake's book Entangled Life, against a white background. The mushroom's fruiting bodies emerge from the discoloured pages at the top, bottom, and side of the book. The visuals are accompanied by a song by Cosmo Sheldrake, and apart from the voice and double bass, all sounds are recordings of the fungus devouring the book, which, according to the video description on YouTube, were "made by the sound ecologist Michael Prime using electrodes that detect the bioelectric activity of the fungus and control a tunable oscillator. The fluctuations in pitch and rhythm are real-time sonic representations of the activity of the fungus as it digests the book." After 30 seconds, the video switches to an image promoting the book.
