ts 🚇Starting here on Thursday 11/13, the Starbucks union has voted to strike. Their ask is that people (incl. customers) stay out of every store until an acceptable contract gets signed. If for some reason you haven’t been able to stop spending $$$ on their mediocre coffee, this a fantastic time to find your local replacement. (Which could very well taste better and cost less!)
Stand in solidarity with workers. DO NOT CROSS THE PICKET LINE ☕

ts 🚇My default post language is set to Spanish - and I'm not sure how to change this while keeping the interface in Spanish. Apologies for when I've forgotten to change it to English for a particular post (since generally that's what I use). I'll see what I can do to fix this....

ts 🚇An update is that I've uninstalled the Intel network/wireless driver and reinstalled from the file that Lenovo suggests for this computer.
And we were back to recognizing my home wi-fi, but "no Internet". I ran the troubleshooter. At one point it was "looking for problems in name resolution" and apparently the DNS server isn't responding.
I flushed the DNS cache. Restarted. Still not responding :-(

Hey all, it looks like Zoom did something to mess up my wi-fi and now I can't even see available networks. Please take a look if you can. I tried restarting. Windows troubleshooter didn't work. I tried a network reset. What is a chipset driver? Is it the "core chipset" or just another name for the wireless driver?

For example, I can't even search my own posts? We ought to be able to search like "#(hashtag) @tsyum@thepit.social" and find each post that qualifies, but I can't even do it while logged in? This needs to be a feature - and intuitive so people don't need to search forums on the Internet to figure out how....

ts 🚇Anyone know of a good resource regarding "content warnings"? It strikes me as a very nuanced topic - despite how some people feel. I spent much of my early life getting the message that I'm too much and that I need to say things differently, be quiet. So while I can appreciate some value in a content warning on occasion, I am not about to put myself behind a curtain to avoid causing other people to feel things.

ts 🚇Okay Mastodon, can we STOP reverting hashtag text to all lowercase? People capitalize different characters for important accessibility reasons. Until we address the protocol issue here, we hurt people across the fediverse - disabled and not. I can’t recommend this platform for news, social media, etc.
