Hi, I'm Tod, and I do #research at @runZeroInc@infosec.exchange. I also do #infosec stuff for fun at @AustinHackers@infosec.exchange. If I had to pick some focus areas of what I'm into, nerd-wise:
Teaching people how #hacking and #networking and #protocol analysis works
Coordinated #vulnerability disclosure
Counting things on networks
Election and voting systems
Medical systems and other exotic OT/IoT stacks
Open source offensive security tooling (like #Metasploit)
For non-tech things:
I have a wife with whom I enjoy a very #sexy attorney-client relationship.
I have a bunch of kids. Some of those kids are now adults. One of them is no longer an alive adult, and that sucks. For the rest, I am constantly trying to educate my kids in #GenX culture, and I lean on them to keep up with #Zoomer things.
I care about politics and social issues and liberal democracy and harm reduction and diversity of experience and equality of opportunity. Some of these cares are radical. Many are hypocritical. But, we all contain multitudes, after all.
I used to be a fed at #CISA (not a cop, not a regulator, not a spy, just a researcher). It was super dope. Unfortunately, feds in 2025 are going through A Thing. Be nice to your fed scientist pals, they do a lot of good work and don't get a lot of credit or money for it.
I live in #Austin, #Texas. I spend as much time at the #AlamoDrafthouse as I can, responsibly -- I like craft beer and craft movies.

I play a lot of Lovecraft-themed games, mostly #FantasyFlight (Arkham Horror & Eldritch Horror, and also Call of #Cthulhu #RPG). I ran a tabletop #VTM game with some friends over pandemic lockdown, and it was fun. I've been involved in #TTRPGs and complicated #boardgames, off and on, for well over 30 years.
Oddly, I don't care about most video games. That is, except for the few I care a lot about (#Nethack, #Civilization, and #Portal).
