That some people find โtext box that spits out a broken version of what they want and then you yell at it until itโs sufficingโ more convenient than using existing tools says a lot more about existing tools than about the text box.
E.g. programming has long been extremely overwrought and complex for no reason other than enterprise wankery and gatekeeping, see the various frameworks from Big Tech.
The same companies now rent you expensive tools that โmake programming easyโ, while their overly complex frameworks and environments are free of course.
Instead of fixing the problem weโre now having two problems.
(The same is true in other industries.)
I donโt get why people think when one industry does something unsafe (e.g. cars) of course sales moratoriums, investigations, fines and recalls are in order;โbut if another industry does (deadly advice in โAIโ summaries) itโs fine.
This isnโt trivial stuff. Google has ~15 billion queries a day.
Letโs say 50% of those contain an โAIโ summary.
Of these 50%โlets be generous againโ10% contain grave factual errors and made-up stuff.
And then letโs be extremely generous and say 1% of queries ask for something like medical advice.
15,000,000,000 x 0.5 x 0.1 x 0.01 x 365 =2,737,500,000
Thatโs ~2.7 billion wrong, dangerous, misleading, maybe deadly โAIโ summaries per year.

Itโs amazing how many replies Iโm getting that โvibe coding is fine, it doesnโt matter if software actually worksโ.
People literally die or get hurt all the time when websites or apps donโt work, because they get false information or theyโre incorrectly flagged or they hit some edge case and stuff just doesnโt happen.
Power gets turned off. Medications donโt arrive. Accounts get frozen. Credit scores ruined. Personal information leaked.
If you donโt take making software seriously you should fuck right off and leave the field.
There was one guy who tried three times to provoke me into a reaction (I blocked them).
The way people identify as โAIโ enthusiasts is indistinguishable from religious extremism.

Would you have a vibe surgeon operate on you?
A vibe mechanic fix the plane youโre on?
A vibe engineer calculate load-bearing structure requirements for the bridge youโre driving over?
But youโre fine with vibe coding?

Oh look theyโre doing exactly what they said they would do in Project 2025; you know that document all centrists said that โthey donโt really mean itโ about.
