A post of a dog and cat in the same picture were the cats eyes look like the dogs eyes at first glance and it's extremely creepy and disturbing because it's so uncanny, followed by an unrelated post of someone saying "this is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen" 467054c21d92e5d9.png A tiny plastic remote with just five buttons vs a giant metal Bang & Olufsen remote with 35 buttons and a LCD display 8f8ef2007cb948fa.png Laptop with color screen booting into Windows 98 479b76deca67673d.jpeg Advertisement from 1979 for the Casio QL-10, which is combination calculator, alarm clock and... cigarette lighter. 06bb218f8df196de.png Macintosh Human Interface Guidelines book from 1992 06aad00226148a7e.jpeg Lofi Australian Shepard 8bbd40730bbb90c7.jpeg Lo-Fi sleeping cat 82cd7a419585d43f.jpeg Original black-and-white 128K Mac from 1984 e81e2264b1bc853e.jpeg Stylish Quadra 700 in Jurassic Park with large color monitor and a nervous Samuel L. My gut feeling is that parents trying to make their kids elite at reading and writing as a backlash against our screen/video world are like teaching their kids the Dewey decimal system, microfiche, driving a stick shift. Kids intuitively know they're growing up in a video world.

I think reading is basically going to be like getting married before you have kids - it'll decline for everyone but will decline much faster for working class people than educated people, making it even more of a class marker than it ever was before 2d22deb58d75725c.jpeg Extremely rad Turbo Pascal logo from the mid-1980s, it's sort of what-if WordArt was done manually with airbrush 3D effect metal lettering on a rainbow f7356bc9ad1107e0.jpeg
