βThings are broken, I know.
βHollow.
βIn my case, I discover I donβt belong in a group of humans I thought I belonged inβor once belonged in. Itβs good information . . . .β

I was one of the trial recipients for this postcard project. So fun!
Also, as it so happens, two of my pieces will be on the postcards this coming year. Looking forward to seeing them out there, after having only self-published for several years.

Whatβs the best crowdfunding platform for people in the US these daysβone that doesnβt require (but can accept via) PayPal, Venmo, or Stripe and has trustworthy business practices?
EDIT: Added the location. (I thought these platforms were universal and have learned theyβre not.)

A difficulty has developed in my small-town area (unincorporated population about 300) of coastal Northern California that might be just the thing for a community-minded (or -desiring) auto mechanic looking for a fresh start. The forest town basically has two businesses: the general store and the hardware-store-plus-auto-shopβboth community hubs. The wonderful owner of the latter, in his mid-70s, is having trouble finding reliable mechanics and seems at his witsβ end. The current two guys seem . . . more interested in other things. My guess is that the right person or people, doing a good chunk of respected work, could eventually run things. The community is a mix of persuasions who more-or-less make it work; an even keel is key. Cost of living can be high unless youβre lucky and/or give it time; this endeavor would be more about being in this beautiful place. Let me know if youβd like more info. Iβll gauge the response and then see if heβs up for receiving emails.
